On October 11, the "Haizhu Bay" passenger ship docked at the Pazhou Hong Kong-Macao Passenger Port in Guangzhou. More than 120 passengers from the Hong Kong International Airport (Hong Kong SkyPier) disembarked, and many of them quickly passed through the "Canton Fair Guest Express Channel" set up by Guangzhou Customs with relevant certificates.
The 136th Canton Fair will open on the 15th. As of the 9th, more than 125,000 overseas buyers have pre-registered. More and more exhibitors and visitors choose to enter and exit the country from the Pazhou Port, which is about 100 meters away from the Canton Fair Complex. Passenger ships dispatched here have 10 trips to and from Hong Kong every day, forming a new cross-border water transportation hub and a new channel for the exhibition economy. As of the morning of the 11th, the Guangzhou Convention and Exhibition Center Customs under the Guangzhou Customs has supervised 128,000 passengers entering and leaving the Pazhou Port this year.
"I came to the Canton Fair this time to purchase small appliances such as coffee machines, juicers, and ice makers produced in China. The customs clearance experience was very good this time. It only takes a few minutes to walk to the exhibition hall and the surrounding hotels, which saves time and energy." said Brazilian buyer Allens Araujo.
Exhibitors and visitors have gathered one after another, and foreign exhibits have also entered the country one after another. Since the first batch of exhibits of the 136th Canton Fair entered the country smoothly on September 4, as of 9:00 on October 11, 72 batches of exhibits of the Canton Fair with a value of more than 4.3 million yuan have entered the country one after another. The exhibits mainly come from Egypt, Thailand, Turkey, Greece, Germany, Portugal, Nigeria and Pakistan.
"From the current situation of filing with the customs, it is expected that enterprises from 49 countries and regions will bring electronic appliances, hardware tools, building materials and furniture and other exhibits into the country." Deng Qiang, deputy director of Guangzhou Convention and Exhibition Center Customs under Guangzhou Customs, introduced.
In order to ensure the smooth customs clearance of the Canton Fair’s inbound exhibits, 20 convenience measures have been proposed, including implementing resident supervision without guarantee, helping to expand the sales channels of Canada trade enterprises, facilitating the participation of imported food, cosmetics and medical devices, expanding the scope of exhibited food, and implementing preferential tax policies for imported exhibits, from four aspects: strengthening service guarantees, providing policy support, improving customs clearance convenience, and deepening scientific and technological empowerment.
Tan Wu, deputy director of Guangzhou Customs, introduced at a press conference held by Guangzhou Customs on the 11th that this Canton Fair will replicate the convenience measures for exhibition food of the China International Import Expo for the first time, and introduce measures such as exempting overseas manufacturers of imported food from registration, to facilitate the entry of foreign specialty foods.
